“Cancelled” – that’s the message many of us are receiving regarding our church services, Friendship groups, and Bible studies. But although we are walking through dark and difficult times, we hold tight to the truth that faith, friendships, and belonging cannot be cancelled!
Reflecting on the Bible studies that we have released in the past couple years, I think to myself how the truths they contain have become even more precious to me during this time. Choosing courage in the face of fear. Praying to God even when chaos drowns out our words. Living with pain… even walking through grief. And how to meet Jesus face- to-face through it all. May we all hold tight to these simple truths!
Please know that we are praying for you – leaders, mentors, and friends around the world. We are asking God for protection and wisdom, for grace and comfort, and for courage. And we ask for your prayers as well as we navigate this new terrain and ask for God’s financial provision in a time of need. This ministry was founded to bring those who were marginalized into a place of welcome. In this face of COVID-19, we are realizing how important faith, friendships, and belonging truly are.
Here are some practical resources for you in this time. Ministry hasn’t stopped – it just looks different right now!
- Check in with your local church ministries, especially those that provide basic needs like food, shelter, and clothing, to see how you can help those in need.
- Utilize “Jesus: Face to Face,” one of our completely digital accessible Bible studies which has been made free during this crisis. Visit togethersmallgroups.org and use the code INTHISTOGETHER.
