Luke 2:10 says, “But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.”
This verse recounts the good news of Jesus’ birth delivered to the shepherds by the heavenly host. The coming of the messiah brought the message of salvation for ALL God’s people. When we celebrate Christmas, we are commemorating the occasion of Jesus’ birth, as well as the joy of God’s merciful love to all.
Christmas is inherently inclusive, and we believe it’s our duty to make this story as accessible as possible. In light of the advent season, we here at Friendship Ministries have developed three themed Bible studies that help tell the Christmas story to ALL our friends.
The first is “Mary: Giving Birth to Good News.” Using the story from Luke 2, this single session study celebrates our King’s birth by taking you from the angel’s announcement all the way to the shepherds visit.
The second study is called “Joseph: Christmas Begins with Compassion.” It compares Joseph’s compassion for his soon-to-be-wife Mary with God’s compassion for the world.
The third study, “The Magi: Unexpected Guests,” picks up where the second study ends. The Magi, strangers from afar, come to worship Jesus after seeing a star that announces his birth. Through this study, we learn more about how God invites unexpected people to join his family.
Merry Christmas from Friendship Ministries! Spread the message of God’s love to ALL, and check out these studies (and many more!) on our TOGETHER site.
